Sharon M. Donovan

Director, Illinois Transdisciplinary Obesity Prevention Program, University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. Sharon received her PhD in Nutrition from U.C. Davis and completed a post-doc in pediatric endocrinology at Stanford University. She has been on the faculty at the University of Illinois, Urbana since 1991. She is active in the American Society for Nutrition (ASN) and was President in 2011-2012. Her research program focuses on the impact of human milk on intestinal development and the microbiome. She also participates in multi-disciplinary research on picky eating and childhood obesity. She has published over 140 papers and has garnered ~ $31M ($19 as PI) in grant funding from NIH, USDA, industry and foundations.
